Many urban dwellers are turning to townhomes
Over the past 10 years, Seattle has undergone a huge change in neighborhood zoning regulations. This has meant an opportunity for builders to purchase small lots that were previously non-buildable and build a smaller house footprint.
This has resulted in a strong trend toward townhouses. Many of the townhouses being built today are referred to as zero lot line townhouses. This means that while you may share a wall or roofline with your neighbor, there are no home owner dues and you own the dirt that the house is sitting on.
Townhouses are a great alternative for many people who have lived in apartments or condos and desire a little more space and noise protection but still don’t want the higher maintenance of owning a home with a yard. ![]()
